Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Metrik handles, why, and the choices you have. It covers our website, web application, and our iOS and Android mobile apps (together, the “Service”).

The short version

  • We don’t sell your data — ever — and we don’t use it for advertising or track you across other apps and websites.
  • Metrik is a business tool. Accounts are created by an organization for its team, and most data in the system belongs to that organization — we process it on their behalf.
  • We only collect what the Service needs to work — including location and camera access for features like attendance, geofencing and site monitoring, used only when those features are in use.
  • We may use aggregated, de-identified data to improve the product. Anything identifying stays private to your organization.

01 Who we are

Metrik (“Metrik”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides an end-to-end construction management platform — covering ERP, project, inventory, attendance, fleet and fuel management — delivered through our website, web application and mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Metrik is a business-to-business (B2B) service. It is used by construction companies and other organizations and is not intended for personal, individual consumer use. We are based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India.

02 Your data & who controls it

Because Metrik is built for organizations, it helps to understand who is responsible for the data within it:

  • Your organization is the data controller. When your employer or organization subscribes to Metrik, they decide what data goes into the system, who can access it, and how it is used. They are responsible for that data.
  • Metrik is the data processor. We host and operate the Service and process data on your organization’s instructions — we do not independently decide to use their data for our own unrelated purposes.

If you are an employee or team member using Metrik through your organization, requests to access, correct or delete your information are usually best directed to your organization’s administrator first. We will support them in responding. This policy describes our own practices; your organization may also have its own privacy policy that applies to you.

03 Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to provide and operate the Service. This includes:

Account & organization data

Information used to set up and manage accounts — such as name, role or designation, employee or staff identifier, phone number, email address, site or project assignment, and login credentials. This is typically provided by your organization rather than collected directly from you.

Operational data you enter

The day-to-day records your organization manages in Metrik — for example attendance, projects and schedules, inventory and purchases, vehicles, fuel logs, vendors and financial records. This data belongs to your organization.

Location data

Where enabled by your organization, our mobile apps collect location (GPS) to support attendance check-in, site geofencing, and showing your position relative to vehicles, assets and sites. Location is accessed only in connection with these features.

Camera & images

Our mobile apps use the camera, with your permission, for features such as face-scan attendance, site monitoring, and capturing photos of fleet or vehicle issues. Images are captured only when you actively use these features.

Device & usage data

To keep the Service secure and reliable, we collect basic technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, log and diagnostic data, and crash reports.

We do not collect data for third-party advertising, we do not sell personal information, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

04 Device permissions

Our mobile apps request the following device permissions only to deliver specific features. You can grant or revoke each permission at any time in your device settings — though some features may not work without them.

Location

Used for attendance check-in, geofencing of sites, and showing your location relative to vehicles, assets and other sites.

Camera

Used for face-scan attendance, site monitoring, and capturing photos of fleet or vehicle issues.

05 How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Service and its features as configured by your organization;
  • Enable attendance, geofencing, fleet tracking, site monitoring and the other tools your organization uses;
  • Authenticate users, keep accounts secure, and prevent fraud or misuse;
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests;
  • Improve, troubleshoot and develop the Service — using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible so that improvements do not rely on identifying individuals; and
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

06 How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • With your organization. Data you enter or generate in Metrik is available to your organization, which controls it.
  • With service providers. We use trusted vendors — such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers — who process data on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and only to help us run the Service.
  • For legal reasons. Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Metrik, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. If Metrik is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

07 Data retention

We retain data for as long as your organization’s account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and as instructed by your organization. We may retain certain information for longer where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce agreements. When an account is closed, we delete or return organization data in line with our agreement with that organization, except where retention is legally required.

08 Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and restricting access to personnel who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, please contact us right away.

09 Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — such as the right to access, correct, update or delete it, or to object to or restrict certain processing. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and laws such as the EU GDPR may apply depending on your location.

Because most data in Metrik is controlled by your organization, the quickest route is usually to contact your organization’s administrator. You can also reach us directly using the details below, and we will help fulfil your request or route it to the right controller. You can manage device-level permissions (such as location and camera) at any time in your device settings.

10 Children’s privacy

Metrik is a workforce and business tool intended for use by organizations and their adult employees and contractors. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11 Data storage & transfers

Metrik is operated from India, and your data may be stored and processed in India or in other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where data is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice where appropriate. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
